Yelena Castañares

Yelena Castañares is a media communication student from the University of San Carlos in Cebu. In 2019, she co-established the official campus paper, The Southern Chronicles, and served as the president of the official broadcasting organization, Pagsibya, both of the University of San Carlos – Senior High School South School. 

She is currently a volunteer journalist for Inquirer.net and the news editor for Today’s Carolinian, the progressive official student publication of the University of San Carlos.
